My Own Mind is a Gold Mine

As I work to get back into the habits of highly successful people I find myself continuously guarding what I let into my mind. Since we become what we think about it stands to reason that one must be careful of what they allow to filter in their mind on a daily basis.  As my good old friend Earl Nightingale puts it:

"The mind is like good fertile land. If you take 2 seeds one of night shade, a deadly poison, and corn and plant the seeds into the land and water them, both plants will grow in abundance. This means that the fertile land does not discriminate and the mind is the same."

Feed your mind negative thoughts and your reality becomes negative, the good news is that the reverse is also true.

I have come to understand this idea as fact as a law of nature that cannot be changed just like the laws of gravity as my good friend Earl puts it. They say the devil loves an idle mind, so I have decided to keep myself busy by continuing my education of money. I have found my copy of Rich Dad, Poor Dad and have already started reading it again. I have some very big goals for November and this book is helping put my mind in the right gear.

Harder Than I Thought

Getting back into the routine of eating healthy and working out regularly is proving to be harder than I thought. So I'm setting myself a goal to work out 3 days in a row this weekend. Starting on Friday. I will update everyone with the progress on Sunday.

Back to Blogging?

I have decided to do a bit of blogging throughout November to get myself back into a continuous routine of doing what I should, when I should. I have some great work scheduled to be released in December since I want to end the year on a great note! I will also be blogging about my gyming experiences as I head back to shed the winter kilos. For now I will keep it sweet and short.

Adios!

The Me I Want To Be

*Switches on Black Skinhead by Kanye West and starts Typing*

I make no apologies for who I am and what I have become. I'm two sides of the extreme either hot or cold. If I want something I want lots of it, no halfway lukewarm sorta kinda fence mentality. I loved the Great Gatsby. Everything about it, the lavish parties. The over the top opulent lifestyle! Yes! The adventure! Yes! The story! Yes! If I did not like it I would hate it no ifs, ands or buts that's just me. I won't change my mind by the way. Next errrrrrp The Wolf of Wall Street, I cannot wait till this movie comes out. You can bet your sweet patootie I'm gonna go watch it and I'm gonna love it have you seen the trailer? No? Well you should.
Man I love movies that just keep showing people who succeed, don't tell me about their downfalls I'm all about victories so beam me up scottty!

Check the trailer out:

I'm gonna watch it again to get another kick. I'm off alcohol for quite some time so it's all natural from hereon. After I get my kick, or motivation I'm gonna do 100 pushups, 100 situps and 100 squats because I'm OWS and did you see my video? The one from my Sydney shows? Look at it below.

Look at that gut that ain't very OWS. See kids this is what happens when you lose sight of your goal. I was nom nom noming too much fast food while on tour.

Here that? Heart beating, there's still a chance to get all 300 hundred  as in this is Sparta!! You know?(3 huned)there's never a right time to do anything so here it goes...

Still waiting for my website to go live will be blogging from there real soon watch this space..no wait watch that space here: www.neopitso.com (still under construction till Augustish)

Is that what you really want?

I've noticed that when it comes to balancing time I struggle. When I put a lot of effort into my music, I write less posts and study less. This isn't what this post is about:

Last week I was in the United States (courtesy of Blackberry) and to say that experience was life changing would be the understatement of the century. No words can describe the experience. On my flight to the US, I felt like God was giving me the opportunity to get a taste of what's to come. This won't be my last visit to the US. On my plane ride to the US, everything just felt right. It's what I've always wanted. 3 weeks prior to my US visit, I was sitting watching TV (I rarely watch TV) and I was watching the music channel trying to learn some performance tips and tricks from the professionals, when I received the email.

Every night, I stay awake till the early hours of the night sometimes going days without sleep just trying to get better at my craft because this is what I really want.  I'm no different to anyone else out there trying to really figure out how to get what we want. We all want something which ultimately leads to our happiness. Sometimes in life you have to make some tough choices that will propel you forward and lead you closer to your goals. When we take too long moving forward, I believe we're forced to move forward by things beyond our control: loss of job, relationship breakdown etc etc. We fight the change however, and see these things as negative occurrences in our lives, but the truth is every so called negative event is just a stepping stone to success and a higher calling. Sometimes we stare so long at the closed door that we miss all the other doors around us that keep opening.

At this point in time you are exactly where you want to be in your life and your actions are proof. You have been given the ability to change your circumstances at any given moment. Yes it will be hard, you'll be broken down until you have nothing left. That's the reality, it's better to prepare yourself for it now rather than live with the fantasy that life is a fairytale, it isn't. It doesn't have to be, for you to be happy.

Your thoughts and your words influence where life takes you. All the greatest minds that ever existed have argued about countless things but there is one thing that they all agree on and that is that you literally become what you think about. In fact even the bible in Mark 9:23 states "Everything is possible to he who believes". So, knowing what you know, that you have the power to live a life of your choosing why are you still just existing instead of living the life of your choosing. Is that what you really want?

Motivation Monday, Terrific Tuesday, Workout Wednesday, Thoughtful Thursday, Fitness Friday, Satisfaction Saturdays, Successful Sundays!! aaaaaaaah!

There is absolutely nothing in this world that can help you accomplish your goals if you're not willing to play your part and do what is required. If you follow my online movements you will know that I use my Twitter account primarily for success quotes. It's just another outlet that makes part of the OWS (Obsessed with Success) experience we're trying to create. Anyway I've come to realize that although I might have access to a lot of these quotes and that I spurt them out sometimes as if they have become second nature, they really don't mean much if people don't follow through with them.

"Staying motivated is like taking a shower, it's not much good unless you do it regularly."

But how do you do it regularly? This article (I should have said this at the start) does not aim to answer the question, just yet, but instead aims to show you that without action all these motivational quotes and terms are nothing but psychobabble.

I have been trying for the past 13 days to get back on track, eating right and exercising but I have failed. Dismally. Yes, even with all these quotes deeply embedded into my mind I still have not possessed the required action to get my life back on track.

Today Wednesday 10 April, marks the day I get back business *puts sunglasses on*

I'd love to carry on telling you how inspiration comes from within and that everyone has down times and that you should not be so hard on yourself but instead work up the courage to get back up, but it'll have to wait I have a jog to take *puts on trainers*

Peace!

40 HOUR DAYS

The people who know me closely know I hardly sleep. I sleep, but not much. As in I do sleep, just not a lot. So I sleep. Just not much. You'll have to pardon the repetition I had a few inbox messages asking if I practice some sort of sorcery which helps me stay awake for days at a time. Unfortunately I don't. Not since the Harry Potter series came to a close anyway.

When you look past the empty boxes of NoDoz and Berocca that occasionally chill on the counter while I'm passing time, writing rhymes, in my mind (You're welcome lol), you'll see something more profound which will help you understand why I sleep about 3-4 hours daily. You'll see the story of a young man who is so hellbent on ..... pause..(Im not about to go into a self glorifying rant, not today lol)

Truth is I hate failing more than I love succeeding. So everyday in every way I try and get better at the things that I do which will ensure me a brighter future. I once heard Donald Trump remark 'how can you compete with a guy who sleeps 3-4 hours when you're sleeping 7-9 hours a day.'

I share the same sentiments, as long as the hours are productive. I've developed a habit of putting in productive hours after hours for hours which is slowly but surely producing results. 40 hour days I call it. Why 40 hour days? Remember how Black Jesus in the bible was in the desert for 40 days, and during lent you give up something for 40 days and in the same book on a different page, story of Noah, it rained for 40 days and nights. So.. yeah... 40 hour days... impressive huh? *crickets* hmm tough crowd

My break is over 4:09am (EST) 18 February 2013.

Back to work I go.

P.S. I don't want to have to tell my kids the reason we're struggling is because when I was younger I was too lazy to work my ass off.

Effing up the Formula!!

Lance Armstrong is innocent! Listen here I saw the interview with Oprah, I heard about the supposed mountain of evidence against him, the countless headlines and statements made by witnesses who included cyclists from Armstrong's own team. I don't believe either of them. It's all a cycle of lies against an individual who changed the face of cycling forever. I'll get back to this later.

What made Armstrong's success story so extraordinary was not so much that he had become a 7 time champion in the world of cycling. What stood out most of all was that he had been given a death sentence: cancer, and not only did he beat cancer but he became a legend in the world of cycling. It's the idea that he made a comeback that makes his story so sensational. It gives the everyday Joe the motivation to believe that anything is possible, no matter how severe your set back, there's always an opportunity to rise and conquer, another day.

When news came out that Armstrong had allegedly been using drugs to win his races, world opinion was divided. His staunch supporters maintained his innocence amidst increasingly overwhelming evidence against their hero. I didn't want to believe he was guilty, not that I'm a fan. I've never been interested in cycling, but the idea that someone had beat cancer and then went on to become world champion in their chosen pathway was something that I found extraordinary.

Of all the books on success and motivation that I've read, the characters are always different but the stories remain the same: Individual beats hardship, becomes hero, lives happily every after and dies a legend. That was the formula and always had been. Although Armstrong isn't the first athlete to be stripped off his achievements due to doping his story is arguably one of the biggest of all time (Don't ask me why, this isn't an essay lol)

As I sit here inhaling the second hand fumes of something that may or may not be illegal I ask, Is the formula for success still the same? Does hard work still = success?

Oh yeah about the opening paragraph, choose what you want to believe, it's a little too late but I wish Armstrong wasn't guilty of doping, now who am I gonna look up to? "Drugs are bad m'kay?" I just hope Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt are 100% drug free.

The Come Back

You know, moving to a big city is overwhelming. I had never seen so many people in one setting in my life. I was born in Welkom, South Africa which is like the Adelaide of South Africa i.e. A small city where people go to retire or start their lives before moving to the big smoke. Sydney to me is the New York of Australia, albeit smaller in comparison to New York city it's still the concrete jungle where dreams are made of....(Can I live?)

I remember, before coming to Sydney, I had successfully stayed off alcohol  for  9 months (Not that I have a problem I just had fitness goals to reach). I had also successfully been running every single day for 300+ days, I slept no more than 4 hours a day and I had already started planning my pre-album "The Outlier". Looking back at the amount of drinks I turned down; nights I stayed in and rainy days I ran on, in pursuit of my fitness and mental goals I'm proud of myself for sticking to something right till the end.

The problem began when I started to conform. I began behaving like everyone else and forgot the big goals I had been chasing for so long. I turned my back on my God given dreams and started doing things for the sake of it, instead of doing them with a purpose or goal in mind.

This blog used to offer me an outlet, to express just how bad I was willing to succeed, all the articles that were not necessarily written by me, kept me going.

The Philosophy or Motto is and always will be, "Obsessed with Success" i.e. The idea that the desire to attain success in every part of my life is so strong that I'm willing to put myself under immense pressure every day, 24 hours a day until I become the poster child of success for my generation in the 21st Century.

I've always lived life with a purpose, there's nothing more fulfilling than living a life where you know exactly where you want to go. I had a set back, but the great thing is that God has already planned my come back.

I've never said to anyone, "This is my year!" because I've never really felt that way about any year. 2013 is different. This is the year of OWS. The team is ready, I am ready:

I release my pre-album 31st March 2012

I was born with music inside me. Music was one of my parts. Like my ribs, my kidneys, my liver, my heart. Like my blood. It was a force already within me when I arrived on the scene. It was a necessity for me - like food or water.

Accept Your Reality

We all have customized realities that we cannot run away from, we certainly have a choice to conceal them while we are around our peers and family members. Some of us create realities as coping mechanisms and lose ourselves eventually then we wonder why we are unhappy. Bear in mind that our realities interact with each other and the people we surround ourselves with either add positively to our realities or take something for their benefit. Our realities should allow us to contribute to our peers positivity through sharing of experiences as we all have stories to tell, this will also allow us to realize that we really aren’t facing life’s challenges alone besides the fact that it is therapeutic. In closing, lets accept the fact that we aren't in total control of our realities, nor should we allow ourselves to feel ashamed of them. Whether you are from a family of alcoholics, racists or atheists, you cannot disregard the impact they have in your life whether you agree with them or not, it is up to you to deal with it and keep things moving, being ignorant about it really isn't a good idea. It is our realities that have made us who we are today; they gave us hope as we've conquered various challenges that we’ve all thought we NEVER can. Adopting fantasies and parading them as if they are legit is only going to put us in harms way. I mean we can achieve things far greater than our selves if we accept our current realities and with that allow ourselves to move towards achieving our dreams and aspirations without unfinished business. With that said, lets stay legit and leave the acting with the actors/actresses.

The Bouyant Kid on Owning your dreams!

We all have our own time. Our dreams and aspirations may take our life times to achieve, and that’s okay. That is better than giving up and giving in to negativity and its screwed up ways. I’ve often wondered how moving it would be if tombstones were engraved with the deceased’s regrets; imagine that for a sec. “I always wanted to __________but never got to it”. We will all join them someday anyway, so why don’t we reduce our regrets by prioritising that which will make our lives worth living. I mean why cheat the opportunity we have by living false lives under pretence for everyone else’s entertainment. I refer to it as entertainment as that’s what shows do. In closing, I can only hope you can hear me, so Listen to yourself say this, as I try and keep trying to achieve my dreams and aspirations, I will remember that todays failure can be tomorrow’s achievement. I acknowledge that can only let that happen if I am on it like you own it in pursuit. See, Owning your dreams and aspirations means you are taking charge, standing by your trials and tribulations and certainly not letting them shift your pursuit.

Buoyant Kid on Patience

Opportunities, we’ve all heard how they may come once in a lifetime and that’s probably true. Lets note that just because it’s an opportunity, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s the right one. Too many people lose track of their dreams because they allow the wrong opportunities to steer them of course. Money is usually the cause because we want instant gratification and pursuing our dreams and aspirations isn’t instant at all.

It’s sad that we are allowing such to take place. We need to constantly remind ourselves of our dreams and aspirations, why they mean as much as they do as well as what it would mean for us to achieve them. When it comes to success, it’s easier to want than to get. Patience may be the difference between achieving it or not, so we have to keep motivated at all times. [T]he RIGHT opportunity may come once in a lifetime, its up to you to recognize it. A short cut, is exactly that: short lived and if that’s what you think your dreams/aspirations [are] worth, then by all means go for it. If you aren’t pursuing a short lived experience of the success you can live from achieving your dreams then PUT IN THE EFFORT because that’s the only way.

The road not taken should therefore be the one that undermines your dreams and aspirations, the one that’s had a lot of people live with resentment and bitterness. Do remember that it’s up to you to take charge and be the commando of your dreams and aspirations. Stay focused and patient.
