Movie Quote of the week
The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place. It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me or nobody is not going to hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much can you take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!

Can you Get Rich? Part 1
Transcript of a Felix Dennis Video:
So can you get rich can you build your own business empire? Its true you CAN be rich you can build your business into an empire you can do it. Anyone of reasonable intelligence who lives in a western democracy can do it given sufficient motivation and application. And the first lesson is that you can only get rich if you believe, if you believe in yourself. You must believe in yourself, you must believe, you must believe that you are the one to do it for if you will not believe in yourself then why should anyone believe in you?
Absolute belief in yourself is vital if you are to succeed absolute belief in yourself despite all your faults many of which you will not know, all of your weakness despite what your parents and teachers told you, despite what your colleagues and friends tell you despite what your lover tells you despite your own failures up to now, despite everything that life has thrown at you.
If you will only banish fear and fear of failure to the darkest recesses of your heart then I promise you, you can do it and no one can stop you from doing it. Only you can stop yourself from doing it. We all fear failure I fear it still I have always feared it but such fear itself is not the problem it is the paralysis that comes with such fear which is the real problem. The paralysis that grows into a mountain you shrink from climbing. That fear is real. The fear of embarrassing yourself, of people laughing at you, of letting down yourself and your family and your colleagues and maybe even your employees the fear of losing the money that you borrowed or begged or stole.
Fear of failing in the open where there is nowhere to hide and no one else to blame. This is the fear you must confront, that you must entice, capture ,chain and eventually padlock into a secret chamber of your soul. It will still call to you it calls to me you will hear its echo from time to time believe me, but by then you will be so far up the mountain so close to the goal of getting rich that its cries will only serve to spur you on rather than paralysing you with doubt. Confront fear of failure confront it head-on stare it straight in its feral eye, wrestle with it, master it master it as best you can batter it in into submission and harness it into becoming your secret weapon. A goad, a scourge to keep you working longer hours than your friends can believe, harder than your colleagues can comprehend, harder than you ever dreamt you could work in years to come you will thank that fear the fear that drove you to achieve what you feel was impossible.

Fitness Friday
This is important; if you set a goal for yourself in terms of weight loss or muscle building, stick to that goal. I have just crossed 70 days of non-stop exercise on a daily basis. I set a goal and I will not give up until I reach that goal. Every time I think about quitting i remind myself of this quote:
"Obstacles are things a person sees when they take their eyes off the goal"

Motivation Monday
Today is the beginning of the new weekly edition of Motivation Monday where I'll be uploading motivational videos for all readers. Last week I received an email from a reader who said she felt marginalized reading my blog because she did not aspire to be a millionaire, and felt that my blog was only dedicated to people who want to be rich. All she wants is a comfortable lifestyle. I understand and respect this and what I need to emphasize is that the blog is dedicated to individuals seeking motivation to reach their full potential in whatever field. If you browse some of my articles you will see that something as 'little' as completing an assignment is a goal which, I argue, should be taken seriously because it instills discipline. It teaches you how to finish what you started and work to the best of your ability within a certain time limit. Point is that if you explore the blog a bit more you will see that I have tried my best to generalize when talking about achieving your goals. I still welcome all feedback on how I can improve the blog and thank you all in advance for the visits and encouraging comments.
The first video is a good way to start this 'Motivation Monday' series.
Success... what is it to you?

INVICTUS
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.

Fitness Friday
As promised I have started a new section of the blog: Fitness Friday. I will be posting pictures to motivate both male and female readers interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle through exercise and balanced diets. I will occasionally add a personal perspective.
Why fitness Friday?
For years I struggled with the appearance of my body. As a person with a relatively small build I had parts of my body extending outwardly hahaha (I laugh now cos I don't look like that anymore *hits the dougie then the tolatsa* I was always under pressure to look a certain way especially as a dude(alpha male mentality). I'm not gonna front and act like I was cool with my body when on the inside I was pissed off because I didn't look how I felt I should look. So I took it upon myself to make some changes. Through regular exercise and well maintained diet I was able to shed 5 kilograms (11 pounds) in 7 days and keep it off. I also got rid of my belly fat, potbelly, beer belly or whatever you wanna call it.
I am not a fitness guru but I realized that through personal experience I can help some of my readers, who are interested in losing weight or maintaining their body weight.
I'm not saying you can't eat whatever you want but if you want to change your body you gotta change your lifestyle and moderate your portions.
All pictures are not mine and have been obtained from the web/public domain. If you want credit for your pictures let me know and I'll credit accordingly.

Movie Quote of the week
Tyler Durden: Raymond you're going to die *goes through Raymond's wallet*. An expired community college student ID what did you study?
Raymond: Biology mostly. *whimpering throughout*
Tyler Durden: WHY?!!
Raymond: I don't know...
Tyler Durden: What did you wanna be?!
Raymond: Veterinarian
Tyler Durden: Animals! Good stuff, yeah I got that, that means you have to get more schooling.
Raymond: Too much school
Tyler Durden: Would you rather be dead? would you rather die here on your knees in the back of a convenience store?
Raymond: No! Please.
Tyler Durden: I'm keeping your license, I'm gonna check in on you. I know where you live. If you're not on your way to becoming a veterinarian in 6 weeks you will be dead.

For this week’s article I will be focusing on ‘boldness’; an essential ingredient in achieving your goals.
I once read a story about an army that travelled by ship to a foreign land to wage war with another country. The men were slightly outnumbered and their spirits were low. When they arrived at their destination the captain gave the order that the ships should be set on fire! As the ships went up in flames he announced that there was no way to get back home so they had to win the war in order to survive. They won.
In order to achieve your goals you need a high level of boldness and this can be achieved in numerous ways. Below I have set out what I believe to be 3 determining factors which, if taken together, will lead any individual to take calculated yet bold actions when working towards achieving their goals.
1. Urgency – Achieving your goals must be such a top priority that you go through tomorrow literally behaving like someone who is trying to make 1 million dollars a day for example. Pushing your goals back too much sometimes leads to a relaxed attitude which ultimately leads to half hearted attempts to achieve your goals. Put your goals on your daily to do list and work towards them regularly.
2. Standards – If you want to be successful but are constantly plagued by limiting beliefs, your chances of success could drop dramatically. Jordan Belfort once told a group of mentees: if you don’t make $250k in your first year you’re suspect, if you don’t make $ 500k in your second year you’re considered weak and worthless... what he was doing was trying to inspire his students (who at the time believed that they could only make $80k a year at most) to aim high. So first what you need to do is eliminate your limiting beliefs by aiming high because as Les Brown says ‘Life has no limitations except the ones you make’. So you have to set high standards because as the saying goes aim for the stars because if you miss at least you’ll land on the moon. Don't settle for less.
3. The Final factor is the Ultimatum. Once your goals have become a matter of urgency and your standards are raised to the point where you’re ready to begin performing at a high standard you must take action that forces you to succeed. I’m slowly completing my double degree (Law and international studies) but last year I found myself in a situation where I was sitting with Fs on my report card and was close to be being excluded from the university. I would have been satisfied with a ‘PASS’ average at the time. Instead of sulking I took action (1) Prioritized on improving my marks, quit all my jobs, deactivated my social networking accounts, stopped going to parties, stopped drinking, attended my classes (2) increased my standards to a distinction at the very least, (3) signed a contract that said if I failed again I would be excluded from the university...
I passed, not just that but it was one of my best performances since beginning my University studies and I have just been offered a position to complete my honours at my University. By including this personal perspective I aim to show you that taking bold action can be done with day to day tasks as well as your long term goals. Boldness leads to growth...
Name any successful person on the face of the earth and I will show you someone who required a level of boldness to get to where they are today. So it’s fair to say, success rarely, if at all, visits the timid because Audentes fortuna juvat, translation;
